《实用临床医学》杂志主要以临床医学一、二级学科分类为依托，把相关文章合理归类，凸显了刊名的特色。常设的主要栏目有临床内科学、临床外科学、妇产科学与计划生育学、临床儿科学、临床五官科学、临床影像学、临床护理学，另有基础与临床、综述与调查报告栏目。其中“临床护理学”栏目，在2008年第三届江西省优秀期刊奖的评比活动中获优秀期刊栏目奖。2010年在江西省新闻出版局开展的江西省科技期刊评估工作中被评为优秀科技期刊。
